Want to be healthy and lose weight? Eat more fat!
What?! She's telling me to eat fat in order to lose weight and be healthy? Is she crazy? Well, yes, but that's beside the point.
Think about it... the increase in obesity has, oddly enough, coincided with the emphasis on polyunsaturated fats, such as vegetable oils, and the villification of saturated animal and vegetable fats.
For thousands of years, humans ate saturated fats and enjoyed low rates of obesity and heart disease - why is that? Why is it that cultures who use (pure, non-hydrogenated) coconut oil extensively have low rates of obesity and disease?
The reason is this: we need fat. We need fat to nourish our bodies and our brains, and we need fat to help our bodies feel full. We need fat for soft, supple skin. In fact, fifty percent of the calories in human breast milk comes from fat.
I could go on, and ask you to take my word for it, haha! But I would recommend the book Eat Fat, Lose Fat by Mary Enig and Sally Fallon. It was quite a read! The book contains a wealth of information about the bum rap that fat has gotten in the past fifty years or so, and addresses some of the financial and political reasons for this. People are, once again, profiting from your health problems! Lovely!

Yep some fat is good but in this day and age it seems this fact is swept under the rug. Definitely not healthy to be on a diet eating no fat.
I know right? They're going to "no-fat" starve us to death. And I (obviously) don't mean doughnuts stuffed with hydrogenated trans fast and refined flour and sugar - but *real* fats occurring in *real* foods. :-)
Thanks for stopping by! You guys sell some sweet shirts!
